treeIn September of 2004 I had to tell a lie to help save one cousin. See my family went through some very hard troubles. My little cousin and big cousin was going through some things that the average brothers just don’t go through. They loved each other unconditionally and the big brother spoiled the little one. When you see one you see the other. As time went on and the little brother got older things began to change between the two. They would have different fews on certain situations that would cause them to fight. The little brother started to drink a lot, and then soon started to consume narcotics. The little brother developed such a angry pattern. One day out in front of my grandmothers home I happen to witness one of their disagreements. It was a really bad one. I got between the two to stop them for entertaining the entire block, I wanted them to go in the house to talk it over. It never got that far, because the little brother pushed me out of the way and shot his big brother. I looked at the little brother, whom no longer looked like himself. He looked like a demon in the face at the time when he turned and looked at me before he took off running down the street. I went to my big cousin, whom took hold of my jacket and said, “take care of my baby brother please” and took his last breath. That was the end he took his last breath and went on. There was plenty of people out there that saw what happen, so when the police came to question me I told the truth, my truth. My little cousin shot my big cousin in self defense. And that was the story told by every one else. My little lie to help save one cousin. We lost one to the ground, no need in loosing the other one to the prison system. All I could hear was, ” save my little brother” those last words spoken.
